Low Code Platform Retool to expand presence across India

The San-Francisco based low code platform Retool has recently announced its entry into the Indian market and is all geared up to expand its presence in India with exclusive offerings as it observes massive demand from IT service providers and startups.

The low code platform would be introducing a free tier that will allow its developers to build more apps and share them with more teammates upfront. Retool faces competitions from similar low code/no code offerings including Hubbler, Appy Pie, and ToolJet among others.

“For us, India is an incredibly important market owing to the talent pool and large number of consultancies that are present here. It was the first international market we invested in and it continues to become a high growth market having grown more than 5x over the past year in this geography. We discovered that Indian startups and companies were going faster than our US clients,” said David Hsu, co founder and CEO of Retool.

With the new free tier system, the company believes that it would be able to reduce friction as well as broaden accessibility to Indian based startups as well as independent developers. Currently, the startup caters to clients in financial services as well as IT segments including Amazon, Pinterest, Coinbase, CRED, Share chat and Unacademy.“We have viewed a lot of potential in IT firms using Retool for multiple different solutions especially in e-commerce and financial services. Many of our US retail clients outsource software development to Indian vendors, who in turn use our offering. We’ve seen massive momentum with our Indian customer base and I feel it’s the right time to expand our support and footprint in the region,” said Hsu.
