Hyderabad among top 5 start up hubs in country

Hyderabad has arisen as one of the top 5 start up hubs in the country in conditions of deal count and funding, with close to $ 900 million funding coming to the Hyderabad and Telangana ecosystem, M Srinivas Rao, CEO, T- Hub said on Friday. ‘
Highlighting the issue that 2021 was a year of break out for the country’s unicorn ecosystem with close to 42 unicorns being added to take the total number of unicorns in India to 81, MSR said Telangana now owns four unicorns.
Speaking at “ Confluence: connect to collaborate and co- create’ for start ups and corporates, MSR emphasised from a regional eco system stand point too Hyderabad has been ranked highly in the affordable talent, regional eco system funding and regional ecosystem performance stand points as mentioned by start up genome rankings.
Making a list of factors driving change in start ups landscape, as said “ they are India’s internet penetration, which is next to china, data consumption boosted by less cost of data in the world on a per GB basis and UPI adoption that has build India fastest promoting digital payment markets.
Although Hyderabad is a late arriver in the space of start ups, Hyderabad has emerged as a key hub over the last six years and Today boasts of over 6, 600 start ups across various sectors with a couple of them close to receiving unicorn status.
Sculpt out of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, Telangana is emerging as the capital of start ups.
The state’s robust economy, good infrastructure, strong IT/ ITES, pharma and life sciences industry, presence of large number of research organisations, availability of vast talent pool, moderately low real estate price and entrepreneurs friendly policies of the state government have supported Hyderabad emerge as a major hub of start ups in a short span of time.
In September this year, Hyderabad made it to the list renowned 100 growing and promoting start up ecosystem across the globe.
The rating given by global by global Start up Eco system Report ( GSER) put Telangana among the top 20 Asian ecosystems when it comes to inexpensive calliber.
Starting with T- Hub, which pioneered the start up journey of Hyderabad six years ago, the city saw a series of ambitions to promote invention and coinage and entrepreneurship, structuring a strong start up ecology.
