26-year-old from Kochi makes it to Forbes list

“Communities add significant value to the firm around which they are developed. However, there are just a few tools accessible to brands to manage, engage, and expand these communities.” Ashwin Sreenivas is adamant about why he founded Campfire, the business startup that landed him a spot on Forbes’ annual 30 Under 30 list.

Understanding the people who are a part of the community, according to the 26-year-old from Kochi, is crucial for any organisation today. That’s where Campfire comes in, by employing artificial intelligence (AI) to help the organisation figure out who these folks are. For example, if you’re a smartphone manufacturer, you’d want to know how the community thinks about the devices, who’s tweeting about them, who’s writing blog posts and producing YouTube videos about freshly released phones, what problems they’re having with them, and so on.

“The pandemic has changed the way customers interact with companies, the way companies behave and learn from their customers,” he says over the phone with indianexpress.com, adding that businesses have now realised the importance of cultivating a strong brand and the role loyal communities play in that.Sreenivas’ solution collects all of the data and uses it to strengthen online communities. “We integrate with your existing platforms and provide you with all of these data points.” So you get all of the historical activity that you’ve probably seen on platforms like Twitter, Github, Discord, or Subreddit for years,” he continued. “We take all of the historical data and extract it all in real time.”

“Everything is flawless from a brand standpoint.” Nothing has changed from a member’s standpoint, except that the firm is now much more engaged with the actual community,” he says.Although Sreenivas would not name the clients who use the technology, they range from a two-person startup to a multibillion-dollar corporation, as well as everything in between. The Saas business model is used by Sreenivas’ startup, which charges clients an annual subscription fee to utilize the application.

Sreenivas was born and reared in Kochi, where he attended the Choice School before attending Stanford University for his graduation and post-graduation in computer science. Sreenivas has competed in Science and Cyber Olympiads since he was a child, and he has even represented India at the International Junior Science Olympiad.Helia, Sreenivas’ initial company, specialised in industrial computer vision, was bought by Scale AI late last year. Campfire now employs a small but rapidly expanding crew and has received venture capital from investors such as Kevin Hartz, co-founder of Eventbrite.
