Bengaluru based Clinikk raises $4 million in pre series A round of funding

The Bengaluru based health and insurance startup Clinikk announced that it has raised $4 million in its pre-series A round of funding led by MassMutual Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Kunal Shah (Founder of Cred), Rohit M A (Co-founder and MD, Cloudnine Hospitals), Anjali Bansal (Founder, Avaana Capital), Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs (a Stanford Alumni Association Group) and other individual investors. Existing investors like Times Internet Group, EMV Capital, 500 Startups’ Southeast Asia and WEH Ventures also showed keen interest in the funding round.

The company will utilize the funds to consolidate its product offering and expand its footprint in Bengaluru and other major cities. It also intends to use the funds for hiring and developing its product.

Clinikk

Talking about the startup and its probable future, the co-founder of Clinikk, Dr. Suraj Baliga stated, “Unfortunately, primary care is often neglected, and because of this, we see huge increases in out-of-pocket expenses. An integrated care model leads to significantly improved health outcomes and more sustainable health insurance pricing. Over the next three months, our subscribers will be able to reach a qualified doctor digitally or walk into their nearest Clinikk network care centre in 10 minutes. The entire care — be it primary, secondary or tertiary — will be completely cashless, and that’s a massive transformation of the Indian healthcare system.”

Founded in 2018 by Bhavjot Kaur and Suraj Baliga, Clinikk is an insurance and health-tech platform which integrates outpatient care and insurance. The company offers a package to its clients that covers family health insurance and offers unlimited out-patient department consultations digitally. The company currently caters to 10,000+ families and looks forward to increasing its consumer base to 20 million by 2025.
