Genrobotic Innovations looks deploy cleantech solutions in UK, Malaysia, and South Korea


Genrobotic Innovations has announced plans to collaborate with the UK, Malaysian, and South Korean governments and provide them with cleantech and medical solutions. Over 100 of the company’s manhole cleaning machine Bandicoot is currently utilised in 14 Indian states.

Having completed a pre-Series A funding round the company plans to use the capital raised to mitigate manual scavenging in India completely by 2025. They are working to upgrade Bandicoot’s usability and automation features, along with looking forward to releasing a new skyscraper cleaning robot very soon.

The company was founded with the vision of ending manual scavenging within the country. Co-founder and CEO spoke of the incidents that inspired the idea for the startup in an interview and said, “During our research days, an autorickshaw driver in Kozhikode (Kerala) died accidentally while he was trying to save sanitation workers trapped inside a manhole. This drew our attention towards the humiliating practice of manual scavenging. We realised it was an unsolved issue that continues despite technological advancements. Manual scavenging is one of the most dangerous jobs, where human beings are prone to hazardous environments.”

The company is looking to expand its functioning to the UK, Malaysia, and South KoreaIt has also noted interest from South American countries.
