Microsoft acquires SaaS startup Ally.io

In lieu of the pandemic caused shift to remote work, Microsoft acquired Seattle and Chennai-based SaaS startup Ally.io. The monetary workings of the deal is not known to the public.

The OKR software will be merged with Microsoft Viva, Microsoft’s new employee experience platform. The software is designed to help companies set goals and objectives for their functioning and tracks progress in the achievement of said goals. The aim of this acquisition was, reportedly, to help Microsoft employees adapt better to the relatively new remote working conditions.

The Microsoft blog post that announced the acquisition stated, “Ally.io will power a new Microsoft Viva module. Viva is an employee experience platform that brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources and insights – from anywhere you work […] We look forward to bringing Ally.io into the Viva family.”
