Maruti Suzuki reported a 46.16 percent decline in sales in September

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reported a 46.16 percent decline in September sales at 86,380 units. MSI said it sold 1,60,442 units in September last year.
As of September 2020, domestic sales fell 54.9 percent to 68,815 units, compared to 1,52,608 units in September 2020.
“Sales volume of the company in September 2021 was adversely impacted due to shortage of electronic components. The company took all possible measures to limit the adverse impact,” the company said
There were 14,936 Altos and S-Pressos sold in May as compared to 27,246 units in the same month last year.
Similarly, sales of the compact segment, which includes models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, and Dzire, fell 75.19 percent to 20,891 units as compared to 84,213 cars a year ago.
Ciaz sales decreased 36.04 percent to 981 units in September 2020 compared with 1,534 units in September 2019.
Utility vehicle sales, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, and Ertiga, declined 22.11 percent to 18,459 units from 23,699 in October 2014.
The company reported that exports did better than they did in the same month last year, as they went up over twofold to 17,565 units.
