Zomato claims to be confident to make profit from intercity food delivery after launching “Intercity Legends”

In response to worries that its inter-city food delivery service would be a logistical nightmare and have a high cash-burn model, online food aggregator Zomato said on Wednesday that it will start earning money even at “a minor scale.” Also read – Wipro, TCS, and Infosys Engineers Earn Less Than Startups. Siddharth Jhawar, vice president of global growth at Zomato, told IANS that the company is in the business of making money. Also, check out the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation and Zomato’s Feeding India. Help Distribute Rations in West Bengal by working together

“We’ll start turning a profit, even on a small scale. When people begin to include our offering in their festivities with larger orders as we expand and become more well-known, we’ll be there, he said. Customers will be able to order meals and specialities from renowned stores and restaurants in other cities thanks to Zomato’s freshly launched “Intercity Legends” feature.

According to Jhawar, the restaurant prepares its cuisine to order and packs it in reusable, tamper-proof containers to protect it throughout plane travel. He explained that modern mobile refrigeration equipment keeps the food without the need for freezing or any other preservatives.

When your order arrives, you can prepare it the same way you would any other meal taken out of the refrigerator: in the microwave, air fryer, or pan. The business recently launched in Bengaluru and is currently providing the same service in the Delhi-NCR area. For the “Intercity Legends” service, Zomato already provides coverage for 10 cities.

“Having said that, we hope to be able to assist and please as many people as we can. Over 100 domestic airports serve India. A possible market might be any city with an airport. We want to initially serve clients in major metropolises, Jhawar told IANS.

“Over time, we’ll continue to increase our supplies while also accepting feedback from clients. As we gather input from customers about what is working and what can be improved, we will progressively ramp up and have plans to expand this to major cities, Jhawar continued.

Customers will be able to “order and taste iconic foods like baked rosogollas from Kolkata, biryani from Hyderabad, Mysore Pak from Bengaluru, kebabs from Lucknow, butter chicken from Old Delhi, or pyaaz kachori from Jaipur” through the new service, according to Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal.

Currently, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Mathura, Chennai, Agra, and Bhubaneswar are on the list of cities from which to place orders. Users will only be allowed to place orders for specific iconic items from a small number of chosen establishments.
