Uber Partners with Shadowfax to Expand Two-Wheeler Fleet for UberMoto Services

Uber has announced a partnership with hyperlocal logistics provider Shadowfax to integrate the latter’s two-wheeler fleet with its UberMoto platform. This collaboration will allow Shadowfax’s two-wheeler riders, who usually provide hyperlocal logistics services, to switch to offering bike-taxi services for UberMoto during their downtime.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Uber’s two-wheeler services by boosting its fleet size and enabling the ride-hailing company to launch operations in smaller towns where Shadowfax already operates. Riders using the Uber app to book an UberMoto may now be matched with Shadowfax drivers, and these trips will be serviced through the Shadowfax driver app.
In a statement regarding the new integration, Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, said, “We’re working on some incredibly exciting new business model innovations. And we’ll have more to say on that in due course, but this is in the line around truly becoming the operating system for multiple form factors.”
Singh further elaborated on the company’s goals with UberMoto, stating, “We are looking to double our entire supply pool by creating third-party integrations with existing two-wheeler service providers who are in the logistics space.”
This partnership mirrors Uber’s earlier collaboration in New York, where the company integrated the city’s yellow cabs onto its platform. For Shadowfax, this agreement comes at a time when the company is preparing for a ₹3,000 crore initial public offering (IPO). The integration is set to benefit Shadowfax’s two-wheeler driver partners by offering them an additional earning opportunity.
Praharsh Chandra, Cofounder and Chief Business Officer of Shadowfax, highlighted the advantages of the partnership: “Through this unique integration, we are set to become the most diversified third-party logistics player in India, offering the first app where all forms of earning opportunities are available.”
Both companies have entered into a revenue-sharing agreement for the rides booked on UberMoto, serviced by Shadowfax riders. Uber assured that there will be no changes in the rider experience, ensuring seamless UberMoto trips even if they are fulfilled by Shadowfax drivers.
