Twitter, The Most Popular Social Media In India,Takes An Unprecedented Action

Twitter, received a notice from the Indian Government led Ministry of electronics and IT to comply immediately with the new IT rules. Amidst the ongoing hue and cry, Twitter blocks four accounts of influencers like JazzyB, hip-hop artist L-Fresh the Lion and two others. Twitter had issued an official statement stating that it was trying its’ best to enforce the new rules while trying not to eradicate the right to speech.
In February 2021, Indian Government had asked Twitter to block 1400 accounts of which Twitter does block 500 accounts but also added that they will not press any legal charges against news media companies, activists, journalists and politicians. However, in the latest development .Twitter blocks four accounts , the company pressed that it had received legal orders from Indian government to block these accounts
