The NIPER Research Portal will help the pharmaceutical industry with research and innovation
- ByStartupStory | January 29, 2022
The Research Portal was created with the goal of disseminating information about all of the NIPERs’ research activities, patents filed, and publications in one place so that industry and other stakeholders are aware of them. The platform will keep track of all NIPERS’ research and tasks.
This portal’s purpose is to verify the availability of ongoing research projects. It will aid other researchers, especially those in the industry, in contacting the appropriate organisation in order to collaborate and make the research more purposeful and meaningful. Research institutes have traditionally operated in silos or in isolation.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya stated that research and development is one of the most important pillars for a country’s economy, reiterating PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan, and Jai Anusandhaan. “We need to harness the energy of all stakeholders’ aspirations to create a holistic ecosystem.” Our generics expertise can also be applied to other industries,” he added.
The Union Minister emphasised the importance of healthy competition in industry and academia, noting that competition and demand are essential for research and innovation because they promote high-quality ideas and solutions for citizens. He emphasised the importance of research and innovation to the pharmaceutical industry’s long-term success.

According to the Minister, the country has a lot of young talent and human resources, but we need to channel them effectively through collaboration between industry and academia. He explained that the Department of Pharmaceuticals created the Research Portal to capture all seven NIPERs’ research activities in order to improve industry-academic collaboration. He stated that the platform would help to promote this synergy and would benefit our industries, particularly the MSME sector.
The research portal will try to bring together research institutions from various government departments, as well as these institutions and businesses. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has also requested that all relevant research institutions, including the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Ministry of AYUSH, ICMR, and others, as well as DRDO, which conducts a lot of pharmaceuticals-related research, join this portal.
