Gurugram All-In-One Facility Inaugurated By Haryana CM Serves Startup Elite
Tesla has commenced Model Y deliveries from its newly opened all-in-one center in Gurugram, marking the company’s first integrated sales, service, delivery, and charging facility in India. Located at Orchid Business Park in Sector 48, the 33,475 sq ft outlet—leased for ₹40 lakh monthly—was inaugurated on November 27, 2025, by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. Early customers include prominent startup leaders like Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and former Zomato food delivery CEO Rakesh Ranjan, highlighting appeal among India’s tech elite.
Since mid-July 2025 bookings opened, Tesla has sold approximately 140 Model Y units across India, with the Gurugram site accelerating handovers for northern customers. This becomes Tesla’s third facility after experience centers in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex and Delhi’s Aerocity, shifting toward structured retail with test drives, after-sales support, and V4 Superchargers on-site.
Model Y Specs And Pricing Tailored For Premium Buyers
Available in Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and Long Range RWD trims, the Model Y starts at ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base 60 kWh variant offering 500 km WLTP range, 0-100 kmph in 5.9 seconds, and 238 km added in 15 minutes of fast charging. The Long Range model at ₹67.89 lakh features an upgraded 84.2 kWh battery for 661 km range (up 39 km via October update), 5.6-second acceleration, and 267 km per 15-minute charge, with top speed capped at 201 kmph.
Interiors emphasize minimalism: 15.4-inch central touchscreen controlling navigation, climate, and entertainment; 8-inch rear screen; panoramic glass roof; dual-zone AC; powered/ventilated seats; and acoustic glass for noise reduction. Safety includes Autopilot with adaptive cruise, collision avoidance, and over-the-air updates.
Charging Network Expansion Supports Growth
The Gurugram center adds to Tesla’s push for infrastructure, planning four locations with 16 Superchargers and 10 destination chargers across major cities, plus home Wall Connectors offered free. V4 Superchargers deliver 99.95% uptime and up to 275 km in 15 minutes, addressing range anxiety in India’s nascent EV ecosystem.
Globally, Model Y remains Tesla’s bestseller, with Q3 2025 deliveries nearing 5 lakh units and revenue up 12% to $28.1 billion. India operations, led by Sharad Agarwal since November, target premium segments amid import duties over 100%—pricing reflects fully-built-unit (CBU) status without local manufacturing yet.
Strategic Entry Amid EV Market Dynamics
Tesla’s Gurugram launch signals commitment to North India, where startup density and high incomes align with Model Y’s luxury positioning. Competitors like BYD Atto 3 and MG ZS EV dominate mass premium, but Tesla leverages brand cachet, software edge, and Supercharger exclusivity.
Challenges persist: high duties deter volume, charging lags highways, and service scalability remains untested. Yet 140 early sales validate demand, with potential for right-hand-drive optimizations and future models like Cybertruck.
Paytm’s Sharma showcased his Glacier Blue Model Y post-delivery, underscoring Tesla’s cultural pull among founders. As India targets 30% EV penetration by 2030, Gurugram positions Tesla for expansion—possibly Mumbai/Delhi showrooms next—building on 2024 test marketing toward sustainable footprint.
