Telecom and Technology-focused Startup: WIOM raises Rs 30 Cr in seed round via YourNest, others

A telecom and technology-focused startup, WIOM raised about Rs 30 crore via YourNest, 9Unicorns and a global tech giant. The round also saw participation from a few angel investors along with existing investors Omidyar Network India and Auxano.
To utilize this investment in order to enhance its product offerings and scale the business has been planned by WIOM.
WIOM, founded in 2021 by Satyam Darmora, Nishit Aggarwal, Ashutosh Mishra, Natraj Akella and Maanas Dwivedi, is creating a blockchain-based model in order to create a distributed “Internet Delivery Model” in the country.
With plans to expand across regions, WIOM is currently available only in Delhi. More than 10,000 WIOM subscribers are consuming affordable internet daily to date. To scale up by 25X times in the next 12 months has been planned by the startup.
