Swiggy announces permanent work-from-anywhere policy

Swiggy stated on Friday that it has expanded its ‘Future of Work’ policy and has made work-from-anywhere permanent for the majority of employees. According to the policy, the corporate, core business functions, and tech teams will continue to operate remotely and will converge once a quarter for a week at their base site to foster in-person bonding. According to the firm, Swiggsters now work from 487 cities in 27 states including 4 UTs around the country.

The decision was made based on the needs of the team and input from various managers and workers who praised the freedom and greater productivity that working from home has provided them over the previous two years.

“Flexibility is central to our ‘Future of Work.’ We kept our ears on the ground, responding to the mood of employees, managers, and leaders while observing global and regional talent trends. This prompted us to make ‘work from anywhere a permanent option for workers, providing them with the comfort of a flexible cycle of work and pleasure wherever they may be,” said Girish Menon, Swiggy’s HR head.

“We must continue to actively engage in reinventing customer experiences, innovations in work, and workplace environment to establish a genuinely remote-first business,” Swiggy‘s HR Head Girish Menon stated.

The very first Jamboree of the quarter was completed in June, and it was a success, with teams reuniting after nearly two years. Employees in partner-facing jobs, on the other hand, are forced to work from the office a few days each week from their home offices.
