For founder Jitender Soni, entrepreneurship has always been about charting his own path. Despite hailing from a family with a 50-year legacy in traditional jewelry, Jitender sought something different. “In 2014, I launched my first startup, a modern café chain. It failed due to poor management. My second venture, an IT solutions company serving international clients, was profitable but lacked the thrill I was seeking,” he recalls.
Finally, in 2019, the entrepreneurial spark reignited. With his brother and co-founder, Jayant Soni, who holds a B.Tech degree and once aspired to be an IES officer, Jitender launched Zuvelio. The startup aimed to solve a significant problem: the inaccessibility of affordable yet luxurious jewelry for a growing global audience.

Zuvelio’s mission is simple: to offer high-quality, sustainable alternatives to traditional diamonds and gemstones. As Jitender explains, “We noticed customers were stuck with boring, expensive natural diamond jewelry. By introducing lab-grown diamonds and moissanite stones, we are providing an eco-friendly and affordable alternative that doesn’t compromise on luxury.”
The company offers unique stones in every imaginable color, from emerald green moissanite to lab-grown diamonds that rival natural gems. The versatility of their offerings positions them as a leader in the industry, setting them apart from competitors like Brilliant Earth and James Allen.
Scaling Heights from Jaipur
Starting with zero investment, With Bootstrapped, Zuvelio initially built its business on the marketplace. By reinvesting revenues, the company gradually expanded, eventually launching its own website. Today, the numbers speak volumes:

Jitender credits much of the success to co-founder Jayant and his team. “Jayant took a leap of faith, risking his career to join me. And my manager left a 12-year career in a large production house to work with us despite the lack of facilities at the time. His belief in our vision has been extraordinary,” Jitender says.
This camaraderie extends to the entire team, which Jitender describes as his “family.” He takes a personal interest in their well-being, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and innovation.
Challenges and Resilience
Like any startup, Zuvelio has faced its share of challenges. Financial management, D2C branding, and oversea shipping were initial roadblocks. However, the team adapted quickly, investing in better packaging and refining operational processes. “Experience cannot be earned on credit; you have to go through the grind,” Jitender shares.
The COVID-19 pandemic, while disruptive, offered an opportunity for engagement. Despite shipping delays, Zuvelio kept its customers engaged with gifts and updates, earning their trust and loyalty.
A Vision for the Future
Zuvelio’s ambition doesn’t stop here. The startup aims to become a $3 billion venture, expanding globally with an omnichannel strategy. Plans for opening its first retail outlet are already in motion, targeting key markets in the US, Canada, UK, and India.
“Through Zuvelio, we’re not just selling jewelry; we’re building a brand that represents modern India’s innovation and eco-consciousness,” says Jitender.
