Siddaganga Incubation Foundation (SIF) is a section 8 non-profit entity located at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru, Karnataka. It focuses on supporting innovations in the areas of Agritech and allied areas, Social impact sectors to nurture startup culture and to address challenges in rural India. SIF is recognized by NSTEDB, Department of Science & Technology, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Gov of India. SIF offers pre-incubation, incubation programs for early-stage startups and invests in startups through SISFS scheme.

In the realm of agriculture, innovation and sustainability intersect to address critical challenges faced by farmers worldwide. Ramesh K Banagar, an esteemed alumnus of Siddaganga Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, with a rich background in engineering and technology, embarked on a transformative journey with the establishment of Shree Veerabhadreshwara Solutions (SVS).  

Ramesh’s academic journey spans from graduating with the Shree G S Paramashivaiah gold medal in 2015 to completing his post-graduation in 2018. His professional experience includes working as a Senior Consultant in R&D at Xceedance Consulting India Pvt Ltd. His career has been highlighted by scholarly contributions, including numerous research and developmental projects and impactful collaborations.

Driven by a deep-rooted passion for agriculture and environmental stewardship, Ramesh identified a critical need to address the challenges posed by fodder shortage in crop production. Witnessing firsthand the detrimental impact of manual harvesting methods, he envisioned a startup focused on developing mechanized, efficient crop harvesting solutions tailored for small and marginal land-holding farmers in India.

In 2023, Ramesh founded SVS with a core mission to offer cutting-edge, climate-resilient, and environmentally viable crop harvesting technologies with the brand ‘SuggiVeer’. The startup’s primary objective is to empower farmers with innovative mechanized solutions and promote the efficient use of crop stover for multiple purposes.

SVS specializes in providing a complete crop harvesting solution called SuggiVeer – Complete Crop Harvester. This solution allows farmers to harvest and collect fruits and crop stover in a single process, addressing the acute shortage of fodder. The product stands out in the market for its effectiveness, safety, and suitability for small and marginal land-holding corn-growing farmers in India. Unlike conventional harvesters, SuggiVeer offers a unique, efficient method tailored to the specific needs of Indian farmers.

At present, SVS is developing the proof-of-concept and prototype of SuggiVeer, with plans to complete two versions of the prototype in 2024 and demonstrate them to potential customers. The startup’s commitment to making a tangible impact on the Indian agriculture sector is unwavering.

Under Ramesh’s leadership, SVS operates with a talented team comprising engineers including Md Yusuf A Yadwad and Akshay G Domnekar. Supported by the mentorship of industry veterans like Dr. Anantha Prasad, Prof. K C Shashidhar, Mr. Benjamin Mathew, and Dr. Samarendra Sahoo, the team thrives on innovation and a shared commitment to serving farmers and promoting ecological and climate resilience.

Looking ahead, SVS envisions expanding its operations across India and exploring international markets. The startup’s goal is to contribute significantly to global efforts towards sustainable agriculture, leveraging its expertise and innovative solutions to benefit farmers and ecosystems alike.

SVS has made substantial investments into its operations, with the founder bootstrapping the startup and securing government grants to aid in prototype development. The startup plans to raise funds once it gains confidence from early traction with its MVP.
