- ByStartupStory | March 14, 2023
In an exclusive interview with Startup Story Media, the founder of Maxlife Ingredient said “ It is very important to study the demand and supply of the market and maintain good customer relations for big and repetitive orders.”
Pradnya Godde, who has done her Master’s in Pharma Chemistry in 2014 and also is a house maker started Maxlife Ingredient in December 2020 with the help of her husband and close friends. During Covid, she realised that people around were in dire need of food and medicine and that urge in her to do something different and give back to family and community got ignited again. Covid was the perfect time to kick start her business as it’s related to food and medicines and she did exactly the same with the push from her friends with proper guidance on how to begin and what to do and not to do.
Maxlife Ingredient supplies all kinds of raw materials ranging from the food industry to the herbal and medicine industry all under one roof and it was what Pradnya’s vision was when she started this business. Her vision was to sell all kinds of raw materials under one roof because no one was doing that and it will be easy for the customers and save them from a lot of hassle and unnecessary transportation costs. They also customise all types of raw materials as per the customer’s needs and supply top-notch and best-quality materials. They initially started a few products of food and then shifted to medicine after they got food and drug licenses and eventually to herbal as well.
Challenges Faced:
Initially, it was very difficult for her to negotiate with the customers as some were rude and all of them had their own terms concerning the quality of the materials, delivery time of the materials, frequent reminders and a lot of others. It was also difficult to find manufacturers for new materials as required by the customers but her friends helped her do that as well. She’s also a house maker and therefore, balancing her personal and professional life took a bit of time, but she aced in all areas gradually and slowly.
Growth with a personal touch:
She attends CPHI meetings in Mumbai and Delhi to make new connections, meet existing customers and communicate with them. She believes that meeting new and existing customers personally creates a great amount of trust and understanding both of which are vital while doing business. Also, attending conferences helps her to understand the market and new trends and products in the market. She also gets to meet new people and pitch in her business to them and get fresh orders.
“Never compromise on quality, exercise a lot of patience while dealing with manufacturers and customers and most importantly, never give up no matter what.”
