This EdTech Startup Ezyschooling Is Helping Other EdTech And Assisting Parents With Admissions

“Focus on revenue since day zero, don’t raise funds for the sake of it. You can scale your business only if you become a businessman first,” Mayank Jain, Founder, CEO, Ezyschooling.

Mayank is a graduate from Delhi Technological University (DTU). Hailing from a business family he was always keen on creating something of his own, he further added, “I didn’t want to start for the sake of starting up,” Mayank said while on an interview with Startup story.

Ezyschooling, Making Admission Procedure Easier For Parents

Mayank told Startup story that circumstantially the idea of his startup drew upon him, when he saw his brother struggling with the process of his son’s admissions. He saw him spending around 15 day’s shortlisting and applying for schools. While still in college, he engaged himself in the process of setting up the portal for Ezyschooling, accompanied by his friends while his family pitched in to bootstrap the amount in 2017.

Startup story inquisitively asked Mayank about how the process involved in Ezyschooling was different from the  traditional admission procedure to which he replied that the process which was initially conducted offline is now online, which automatically eradicates any kind of manual work, the tedious hours spent on shortlisting and filing applications is considerably lowered on both ends. With Ezyschooling, any school can join the portal and create a profile, setting up their admission criteria after which they can easily receive and manage applications. On the other hand as for the parents’ end, after they have shortlisted their schools in the cart they can easily apply with a single form, for which only a mere convenience fee is charged, any other test or interviews that follow can be held on the portal itself. They also facilitate recommendations on the basis of a detailed form filled by the parents while logging in.

Mayank further told Startup story that with a reach of 1.5 lakh monthly visitors and 45000 registered parents; it automatically improves the reach for the schools in order for them to attract more students. He added that every school that had joined them continues to be with them.

What makes Ezychooling distinctive, concept behind the name

The concept that drives the idea of Ezyschooling has everything to do with the name of the brand. Mayank provided an insight into the deeper idea while conversing with Startup story, “We handhold the parent until the child turns 18.” Schooling made easy gives rise to the term Ezyschooling. They focus on creating a community for parents to indulge and at the same time providing them access to content that is of great help for the parents.

Furthermore, Maynk told us that they help parents choose the right tutoring platform or introduce them to a related edtech platform. This feature makes Ezyschooling stand out from any other edtech startup as their unique idea doesn’t make them a part of the race or a competitor against any other edtech giants but the platform actually serves as a catalyst for these other platforms. Any other edtech startup is a prospective client whom they can feature.

Future plans and raising funding

Elaborating on his long term and short term goals, Mayank told Startup story that he was planning on expanding aggressively as they need to acquire more schools. Ezyschooling has a stronghold in Delhi NCR and certain other cities including Lucknow, Alwar, etc. On a uniform note he is also willing to establish a presence in other metro cities at the same time setting up offices in these places. As for the short term they will soon be launching their app six months down the line.

As a startup, Mayank told Startup story that he was being supported by Meteor venture on the journey. They have been a great help as mentors. He also said it was a great platform for any startup if one was aiming to grow exponentially. Next, Startup story asked Mayank regarding raising funding to which he replied they were already preparing for the seed round and for which they had some investors on board.

Major setbacks

The pandemic hit Ezyschooling with a rough blow in the very beginning as it had dropped their revenues significantly since parents were no longer engaging in fresh admissions for their kids. Since then they have been functioning smoothly.
