50,000 Startups Recognized By Startup India, 5.5 Lakh Jobs Created In A Span Of 5 Years

5,49,842 jobs created by Startup India under PM Modi’s initiative’s flagship, crossed the mark with around 48,093 startups recognised by Startup India through Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) On Thursday. PM Modi launched the scheme on January 16, 2016. with the intent of income tax extension, easy winding up of companies, sops around registration, easier public procurement norms, etc.
Around 48,093 startup’s recognised by Startup India, these startups have launched 5,49,842 jobs with an average of 11 employees per startup. In FY21. 19,896 startups recognized by Startup India based across 623 districts with one startup leading in State and Union Territory. The highest concentration of startups is noted in Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh.
