Playto Labs, Education start-up, has raised more than four crore INR in a funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures, one of India’s angel investment platforms. The money raised will be used to build a solid team and expand the clientele.
Raj Snehil Juneja, Krishna Kumar, Kunal Walia and Shashwat Kumar as well as entrepreneurs such as Tonmoy Shingal and Ketan Kapoor, Sachin Sharma, Rajesh Razdan and Kuldeep Dhankar have also joined the cycle.
Less than a year after launch, Playto Labs products for kids already claim to pay customers in 33 countries and have seen strong monthly growth. Kids love these products, and the same is clear, as more than half of customers come from word of mouth and organic channels, the startup said.
Pavan Ponnaganti, founder and CEO of Playto Labs, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, said: “Toys are a great way of learning for children. But the toys cannot meet the learning needs of children when they grow up after 7 years. As a result, children depend only on their school to learn. Through Playto Labs, we develop products to address this problem and make play a more relevant learning method for children from the age of 7. The aim is to make children really appreciate science and technology, and we believe this is how the true innovators of the future will emerge. We currently offer robotics products for children and are delighted with the feedback we have received from students and parents around the world. Soon we will launch other products.
