Nothing to collaborate with Qualcomm, raises $50 million

Nothing, the technology company founded by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, announced it has raised $50 million from strategic and private investors, in addition to announcing its partnership with US chipmaker Qualcomm. A source said the company has raised investments from Swedish DJs Christofer Axwell Hedfors and Sebastian Ingrosso. The company was previously backed by GV, the venture capital investment arm of Alphabet Inc. Tony Fadell, Apple iPod designer, Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin and Reddit CEO Steve Huffman also support the company.
The company announced that the funding received would be used for R&D so that it could break into other product categories in the future. And regarding its partnership with Qualcomm, the company said in a press release that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform will power its future products.
Qualcomm already powers many devices, from smartphones to cars. The company probably hopes to use Qualcomm’s technology and penetration of many types of products to break into other product categories after the ear (1) proves to be a very successful audio product.
