NITI Aayog has launched the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for public use to make data accessible, interoperable, interactive and easy to use. The official statement states that the
platform hosts datasets from various government agencies, presents them in a coherent manner, and provides tools for analysis and visualization.
This release, following the beta release of the platform in August 2021, provides access to testing and feedback for a limited number of users.
NDAP takes a use-case-based approach to ensure that platform-hosted datasets are tailored to the needs of government, academia, news, civil society, and private sector data users.

“The main value that NDAP adds is making key foundational datasets interoperable with each other. This will enable easy cross-sectoral analysis and democratize the use of Indian government data,” said Suman Bery, vice chairman, NITI Aayog.
All datasets are standardized to a common schema, so you can easily merge datasets and perform inter-sectoral analysis. The platform has 203 datasets from 46 central government ministries and 14 sectors as of May 2022.
The rise of data and digital technologies are rapidly transforming economies and societies, with enormous implications for governments’ daily operations, said Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog.
“NDAP is a critical milestone, which aims to aid India’s progress by promoting data-driven disclosure, decision making and ensuring availability of data connecting till the last mile, is an example to how the power of data can be leveraged,” Kant added.
