Kairous Capital Leads $5 Million Funding in Creator-Economy Firm Mantayay Global
Malaysia-based creator-economy and digital media company Mantayay Global Holdings Pte Ltd has raised $5 million in its first institutional funding round, led by regional venture capital firm Kairous Capital through its Asia Venture Fund II (SEA). This marks a significant boost for Mantayay’s mission to expand its creator network and develop AI-enabled content and commerce infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
Since its inception, Mantayay has grown its client base across gaming, FMCG, and technology sectors, managing over 4,000 TikTok creators and producing more than 1,000 short-form videos monthly. Its flagship original content, Terpaling Menantu, has garnered over 300 million cumulative views, underscoring the company’s robust reach and engagement.
Kairous Capital’s investment aims to accelerate Mantayay’s regional expansion, strengthen cross-border creator collaborations, and advance AI-driven innovation in content strategy. Joseph Lee Moh Hon, Managing Partner at Kairous Capital, highlighted the firm’s conviction in the creator economy as a key growth sector fueled by trends in content-commerce and short-format digital dramas.
Founded in 2015, Kairous Capital focuses on scaling technology startups across Southeast Asia and China, providing strategic capital, operational support, and cross-border market access to unlock value.
Mantayay’s $5 million Series A funding is a strong signal of investor confidence in creator-led digital businesses as they transform consumer engagement and commerce across emerging Asian markets.
In summary, the funding round led by Kairous Capital positions Mantayay to amplify its creator-economy platform using AI and regional partnerships, driving growth in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-evolving digital sectors.
