Nykaa revenue grew 47% to Rs 885 crore for September quarter as profits declined


NSE Nykaa FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd, the parent entity of the newly listed beauty e-tailer, stated in regulatory filings late on Sunday that gross merchandise value (GMV) increased by 63 percent year over year and 10% sequentially for the quarter ended September 30.

The company’s total GMV for the quarter was Rs 1,622.9 crore, up from Rs 997.1 crore in the previous quarter. In ecommerce, gross merchandise value (GMV) refers to the entire worth of all goods sold on a platform, including discounts but excluding returns.Nykaa’s total revenue from operations increased by 47 percent year on year to Rs 885.30 crore.

According to stock exchange filings, the sales growth rate was 8% sequentially.

Revenue increased by 91 percent to Rs 1,702.3 crore in the first half of the year.

Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) fell 48 percent to Rs 28.8 crore in the second quarter, compared to Rs 55 crore the previous year .

In an interview with ET last week, Nykaa’s founder and CEO Falguni Nayar said the company would continue to focus on expansion in the beauty and fashion industries.
