Zomato co-founder Mohit Gupta steps down from his function

Delhi-based foodtech organization Zomato stated that Mohit Gupta, who was elevated to the status of Co-founder in 2020 tendered his resignation on Friday.
Mohit joined in 2018 as CEO of food delivery aggregator, after serving as Chief Operating Officer at online travel aggregator MakeMyTrip. Mohit was pivotal in taking both MakeMyTrip and Zomato public.
Mohit said that over his four-and-half year stint at Zomato, he and Deepinder Goyal, Founder and CEO of Zomato, managed to survive the competition, pandemic and more. However, he did not specify his next move.
“Over the past few years, I have seen Deepi (Deepinder Goyal) become an even more mature and confident leader who is now completely capable of leading the business into a bright future with all of you by his side,” he added in his resignation letter.
He further said, “It is with this confidence that I am deciding to move on from Zomato to seek the other unknown adventures that life holds for me. As I look ahead, I am full of excitement for the vision that Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure and Feeding India are building towards.”
