Gunjan Patidar, co-founder and chief technical officer of food aggregator Zomato, announced his resignation from the company on Monday. He has worked there for more than ten years.
Today, he submitted his resignation. Zomato stated in its regulatory filing that Patidar was not a key managerial employee (KMP).
“Gunjan Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato and built the core tech systems for the company. Over the last ten years plus, he also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable,” said Zomato in its regulatory filing.
This is a significant departure from the company after co-founder Mohit Gupta left in November of last year following a four-and-a-half-year tenure.
Rahul Ganjoo, the head of Zomato’s new projects and former head of food delivery, left the firm in November. A week ago, Siddharth Jhawar, the head of the company’s Intercity Legends service, also announced his departure.
The food aggregator laid off less than 3% of its total workforce in the most recent period. According to the business, the firings are related to regular performance.
Zomato’s net loss decreased from 434.9 crores in the same quarter last fiscal year to 250.8 crores during the September quarter. In the meantime, operational revenue increased by 62.20 percent to Rs. 1,661.3 crores.
Sales for the company’s meal delivery service increased by barely 22% to $6,631 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal year from $5,410 crore in the same quarter last year.
