Wiggles adds Capt Zack to its portfolio, acquires 100% stake

Wiggles, a pet care brand committed to providing a comprehensive pet care ecosystem supported by veterinary science, has acquired Capt Zack in a 100% cash and equity deal. This acquisition marks the first of its kind in India’s expanding pet care start-up industry, where one domestic pet care start-up acquires another. Capt Zack, founded in 2016, was among the first direct-to-consumer players in the Indian pet care market. The acquisition not only enables Wiggles to expand its presence but also reinforces the brand’s commitment to leadership in the industry and animal welfare. Anushka Iyer, Founder and CEO of Wiggles, stated that the acquisition will strengthen distribution, expedite new product development and launches, and is a significant step towards leading India’s pet care industry with quality and science.

Capt Zack has built a reputation for offering a wide range of safe, natural, and chemical-free products for cats and dogs, including hygiene items, food, and treats, as well as accessories like toys and beds. As a result of this acquisition, Wiggles will be able to expand its portfolio into new categories, thanks to Capt Zack’s established presence in the grooming essentials segment. Capt Zack was also the first Indian brand to clinically test pet products on sensitive human skin and provide veterinary-licensed items. Wiggles plans to continue investing in research and development to enhance this category’s growth further. This acquisition will speed up Wiggles’ growth and extend its reach into new markets and product lines.
