Virender Sehwag Invests in Homegrown Fintech Getepay

Cricket legend Virender Sehwag has joined forces with Jaipur-based fintech startup Getepay. Sehwag, renowned for his explosive batting, has invested $500,000 in the company and will also serve as the brand ambassador. His involvement will include lending his voice to some of the brand’s IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System).
Getepay, which has garnered over $4 million in funding from prominent investors like Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Hyderabad Angels, ITI Growth Opportunities Fund, DBR Ventures LLP, and Yogesh Chaudhary, is set for rapid expansion. The company collaborates with over 1.5 million merchants and more than 150 banks across nearly every state in India.
“I am thrilled to be onboard Getepay and be a part of their digital innovation journey. At Getepay, we are building digital offerings, especially for Bharat, which has excited me to be part of this journey. I am sure we will take this to maximum merchants in the coming days and enable cost-effective solutions for them,” said Sehwag.
Getepay aims to expand its payment and digital services to its existing merchant base, targeting an increase to 2.5 million merchants. The company also has advanced plans to expand internationally, further solidifying its position in the global fintech market.
