VECROS, India’s foremost Spatial AI-powered Drone Systems company, has successfully raised $250,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by Rebalance Angel Community. The funding round also saw participation from notable investors such as Eternal Capital, OTP Ventures, and TDV Partners.
Founded in 2021 by seasoned professionals Besta Prem Sai and Rajeshree Deotalu, VECROS has unveiled India’s first Spatial AI technology designed explicitly for drones. The company’s flagship product, ‘Athera,’ is an autonomous drone fueled by the cutting-edge ‘JetpixTM’ operating system developed in-house.
“We have developed an entire operating system to launch drones autonomously and operate them without the need for a pilot. We want to empower industries with GPS-independent, AI-on-Edge drones, which can redefine the future of drone operations,” expressed Rajeshree Deotalu, Co-Founder of VECROS.
The proprietary technology enables the AI to comprehend space, depth, and structure, facilitating safe navigation. VECROS’s groundbreaking autonomous drone technology is a comprehensive hardware and operating system solution, promising a remarkable 70% reduction in costs and a 60% decrease in flight time per task.
“We’re leading the drone market with level 4 autonomy right now and are on the path to developing level 5 autonomy. This allows a drone to automatically take off, scan an area, and report insights without any human intervention. Some features we’re excited about include automatic mission scheduling and advanced video management,” said Besta Prem Sai, Co-Founder of VECROS.
The drone inspection and monitoring market is projected to reach $30 billion by 2026, with the commercial security sector offering a substantial opportunity of US$1 billion per year in the coming decade.
Aishwarya Malhi and Vikas Kumar, Co-founders at Rebalance, expressed their excitement about the technology’s applications across various sectors, including construction, energy plants, oil and gas, utilities, large agricultural farms, railways, civil security, and emergency response.
VECROS has filed for over 10 patents, with ongoing trials conducted with the Indian army, security, and logistics companies. The company has been selected for the Indian Army’s IDEX program, emphasizing its commitment to developing autonomous mapping and GPS-Denied solutions.
“We met Rajeshree through a friend when they were in the initial testing phase. Her passion and the story of what they were building for India was inspiring. We’re excited to see the multifold applications of their technology,” commented Aishwarya Malhi and Vikas Kumar.
The funds raised in this round will be allocated for the production and commercialization of drones, as well as team expansion. VECROS aims to make drone-based applications both operationally applicable and economically viable, bridging the gap between deep-tech complexity and on-ground operations.
Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl, partner at Eternal Capital, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Vecros aims to make the world of drone-based applications both, operationally applicable and economically viable. By bridging the gap between the complexity of deep-tech and the intricacy of on-ground operations, Rajeshree & Besta are building a scalable and sustainable new-age company and are excited to back them.”
Vecros’s recent feature on Shark Tank India Season 3 showcased their groundbreaking GPS-denied drone technology, further highlighting the company’s innovative prowess and commitment to pushing the envelope in autonomous monitoring and inspection.
