UpGrad Allocates Rs 100 Crore for Establishing 100 Offline Counseling and Learning Centers

Edtech firm upGrad is set to establish 100 offline connect and counseling touchpoints, along with learning centers across India. To facilitate this expansion, the Mumbai-based company has allocated an initial fund of Rs 100 crore. Over the next 12 months, upGrad aims to extend its presence to non-metropolitan areas and smaller towns while ramping up operations.

“We have identified the high-demand geographic pockets that will allow talents beyond metros to experience the sincere hand-holding they need in their lifelong learning journey,” stated Mayank Kumar, Co-founder and Managing Director of upGrad.

The company has already inaugurated its first two counseling centers in Mumbai and Delhi, along with its first two learning centers in Indore and Pune. Within a month of inauguration, upGrad reported conducting over 500 career counseling sessions.

“The objective, through the 100 centers, is to guide over half a million individuals on their career decisions,” added the company. Additionally, upGrad aims to enroll over 10,000 learners in the learning centers.

“In the current FY, we are integrating our offerings carefully to empower every age group with the right career guidance and high-quality learning suite and training encompassing both long and short format courses,” Mayank Kumar further emphasized.

The newly established centers will function as hubs for career counseling, catering to individuals seeking to upskill and reskill themselves. They will offer access to all of upGrad’s courses and programs in one centralized location.
