A travel tech startup Teleport has successfully raised $500K in a pre-seed funding round, with investments coming from notable figures such as entrepreneur Kunal Shah, Vidit Aatrey, Kishore Ganji, Appreciate Capital, Superb Capital, 888VC, and the FAAD network.
This Bengaluru-based startup had previously secured a $100K grant from the PeakXV (Sequoia) Spark program earlier in the year. The newly acquired funds will play a pivotal role in advancing Teleport’s mission to simplify travel visa processes and revolutionize cross-border travel experiences, according to the company’s press release.
Founded in 2022 by Nikita Dresswala, Teleport’s core objective is to streamline and accelerate travel visa applications. The startup achieves this by simplifying paperwork requirements, furnishing accurate information, and offering a user-friendly platform for application submission.
Teleport has already gained the trust of more than 100 travel agents and companies, serving as their preferred choice for visa processing. The platform currently facilitates tourist visa applications for over 40 countries and has set an ambitious target to process 100,000 visas by the end of 2023.
Earlier this year, Peak XV unveiled the second cohort of its Spark fellowship program, comprising 12 female founders from India and Southeast Asia. This program concentrates on various sectors, including climate tech, health tech, SaaS, B2B, web3, consumer internet, and D2C.
