Noida-based toy-tech startup Snooplay has raised Rs 8 crore in a Pre-Series A1 funding round led by the Pravek Family Office, with additional participation from several strategic angel investors. This marks a significant milestone for the company, which had previously raised $535K in a seed round.
The new funding will fuel the launch of two proprietary technology products that aim to revolutionize how India discovers, purchases, and recirculates toys. The startup plans to combine AI, behavioral data, and empathy-driven design to build a future-ready ecosystem for play.
Founded in 2019 by Aanchal Mahajan and Brij Raj Singh, Snooplay is building what it describes as India’s first full-stack toy intelligence platform. Their platform is powered by a proprietary Toy Intelligence Database an industry-first initiative that maps toys to developmental goals, moods, skills, and learning types, allowing users to discover the most suitable products based on real needs.
“We are building India’s only toy app that’s serious about play. An app that helps you discover and buy the right toy when your child needs it and lets you trade it in for store credits once they’ve outgrown it. No clutter, no guilt. Just a smarter way to play,” said co-founder Aanchal Mahajan.
Currently, Snooplay boasts a catalog of over 35,000 toys from 600+ brands, serving a rapidly growing user base of Indian parents, collectors, and gift-givers. The company’s model emphasizes a circular economy through guilt-free disposal and toy buyback programs making it India’s first app to create infrastructure around responsible and intelligent play.
With this funding, the company plans to strengthen its tech stack, logistics, and operational infrastructure, while also expanding its private label offerings across modern retail, e-commerce, and gifting platforms. Additionally, Snooplay will ramp up its buyback program in partnership with NGOs, enabling customers to donate toys sustainably and responsibly.
Snooplay enters a competitive market dominated by names like Funskool, Mattel, Simba Toys, Hamleys, Hasbro, and Lego, but positions itself as a differentiated, purpose-led platform with a clear tech-first and empathy-driven approach to play.
As Snooplay gears up to launch its next set of innovations, the startup is poised to reshape the Indian toy industry not just by what it sells, but how it reimagines the entire lifecycle of play.
