Gen Z keen to work in tech and from office, says Nasscom Report


As per the comprehensive analysis from NASSCOM, Indian Tech Industry hired around 380,000 freshers in FY22 with 18-20% of genz and 68-70% of millennials as the total employee base.The Genz students are intrigued to take technology jobs in the coming future. The report states that India has a good share of Genz and millennials of 52% , higher than the global average of 47%. This spur is predicted to be till 2030 As the generation shift is coming into perspective, the majority of newer generation has a preference of working from office or in a hybrid mode, with a dynamic environment that reflects their own core values in the work space, if they find the right environment which resonates with them they are even willing to spend more than 2 years in their first job. Millennials on the other hand  focus on job stability and flexibility criteria to work with an organization.

Sangeeta Gupta, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy officer stated that, “With newer perspectives and ideas, Gen Z and Millennials are setting the future course of employee engagement, retention, and acquisition strategies. It will be interesting to see how these newer generations shape India’s future as the talent hub of the world”.
