The Ayurveda Co secures INR 100 Cr funding to strengthen brick-and-mortar footprint

The Ayurveda Co (T.A.C), a direct-to-consumer brand offering ayurvedic beauty and personal care products, has secured INR 100 Cr in its Series A funding round. The funding was led by Sixth Sense Ventures, a consumer-focused venture fund, and included participation from actress Kajal Agarwal, several startup founders, and venture debt funds. While T.A.C did not reveal the precise split between equity and debt funding, it confirmed that the majority of the funding came in the form of equity.

T.A.C has announced its latest funding round four months after actress Aggarwal became an investor in its Series A funding. The ayurvedic beauty and personal care brand plans to utilize the newly acquired funds to expand its offline reach, upgrade product manufacturing, boost in-house R&D, and increase digital awareness of ayurveda and T.A.C.

According to Shreedha Singh, the CEO and cofounder of T.A.C, the company aims to increase its touchpoints to over 20,000 within the next two years or by FY25, up from the current 5,000+. T.A.C has already entered the international market with its launch in Dubai and plans to expand to other regions in the UAE soon. Additionally, the company is focusing on activating its US market.

T.A.C, which was founded by Param Bhargava and Shreedha Singh in 2021, specializes in producing a range of ayurvedic products. Their products include skincare, haircare, natural makeup, wellness products like supplements, and more. The company has expanded its physical presence by setting up its retail stores and partnering with retail stores such as Health & Glow. According to Singh, T.A.C is currently establishing its own research and development facilities, with a focus on enhancing its product knowledge. He further added that the company aims to make Ayurvedic wellness accessible to a larger demographic, particularly millennials and Gen Z, in order to popularize this form of medicine. The cofounder emphasized the significance of the Series A funding, stating that it will aid the company in achieving its mission.

T.A.C secured $3 million in funding from Wipro Consumer Care Ventures, along with investors such as Rahul Gupta from Tricity Technologies and Harsh Gupta from School of Design and Entrepreneurship, in March 2022. To date, the startup has raised approximately $115 million. According to T.A.C’s statement, it achieved exceptional growth, expanding by more than 300% in the last 10 months.
