Terractive Raises ₹8 Crore in Pre-Series A Round to Drive Fabric Innovation and Product Development

Mumbai-based lifestyle activewear brand Terractive has raised ₹8 crore in a pre-Series A funding round, co-led by Fireside Ventures and DeVC (Matrix Partners). The fresh funds will be utilized to accelerate fabric development and enhance product innovation, the company announced in a press release.
Co-founded in 2023 by Raena Ambani and Rahee Ambani-Choksi, Terractive is committed to redefining activewear by blending innovative fabric technology with unmatched comfort. The brand’s signature offerings include unique fabrics like TerraSoft, known for its cotton-like feel and anti-odor properties, and CoolKnit, designed for a cooling effect with a premium finish.
“Terractive empowers activewear by blending innovative fabric technology with unmatched comfort,” the press release stated. “With a focus on quality and innovation, Terractive aims to become the go-to choice for premium everyday wear.”
The brand’s product range features bestsellers such as the TerraSoft Cuddle Tees, 365 Men’s Shorts, and Activity Skorts, catering to the needs of modern consumers seeking versatile and premium-quality lifestyle wear. By integrating cotton-soft fabrics with anti-microbial and anti-odor properties, Terractive stands out in the competitive activewear segment.
Highlighting the brand’s innovative fabric offerings, Terractive explained: For instance, our bestseller Cool Knit Fabric looks and feels like premium cotton with a surprisingly cooling sensation on the inside, all while being anti-microbial, anti-odor, and sweat-patch-free.”
The brand also noted the success of its Cuddle Tee range, which has attracted over 25,000 customers.
Terractive operates in a burgeoning market, with India’s fashion and apparel segment projected to generate $105.50 billion in revenue in 2024 and expected to grow annually at a CAGR of 3.35% through 2029, according to market research.
The activewear brand faces competition from other players in the segment, such as Blissclub, Carbontree, and Cukoo, but believes its focus on innovation and customer-centric design will help it carve out a distinct niche.
