Y-Hub, an exclusive innovation hub aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurial skills in youth and adolescents, will be set up in Hyderabad through a Statement of Intent signed by the State government of Telangana and UNICEF India. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Telangana.
A new center has been launched in the country that aims to promote problem-solving, creativity, design thinking, 21st-century skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship among young people in the State. This is the first center of its kind in the country, and the framework for it was introduced a few months ago. On Friday, the State government, UNICEF India, and YuWaah signed a Statement of Intent to support this initiative.
Speaking on the development, IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said, “This is truly a historic moment for the youth and innovation ecosystem of Telangana. We are happy to partner with UNICEF India to strengthen the efforts of promoting innovation and entrepreneurship from school age. Through Y-Hub, we will ensure our youth continuously innovates in a joyful manner and we will curate experiential methodologies for them to become tomorrow’s problem solvers.”
“The hub aims to cultivate innovation by engaging schools, colleges, and civic organisations of Telangana to serve every child and youth. It will serve as a bridge between young innovators and the wider ecosystem, connecting them with government agencies, corporates, academia and others,” he added.
“The Telangana Y-Hub aims to be a hub for innovation and incubation, fostering young innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs. Its objective is to offer a platform for them to acquire knowledge, draw inspiration, innovate, and collaborate as dynamic agents of change,” stated Cynthia McCaffrey, UNICEF India Representative.
