Aakash Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., located in New Delhi, announced on Wednesday that it had paid $4 million to purchase the Asia Med Center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (Rs 32.6 crore). On November 23, the refurbished 60-bed multi-speciality hospital will welcome the general public.According to managing director Aashish Chaudhry, a significant number of medical tourists from Uzbekistan travelling to India for cutting-edge treatment was the impetus for the hospital to enter the market.

Every nation is using medical tourism as a cash train, he continued, as they investigated ways to transfer patients from Uzbekistan to India. Around 10,000 Uzbek patients every year, or more than 400 at a time, visited, he claimed. “We worked on the project for the last three years, and our team went there 14 times to treat patients. We worked on the project for the last three years, and our team went there 14 times to treat patients. Only last month did we complete our agreement.”
Aakash Healthcare intends to grow by partnering with ANVKA Healthcare, a sister company, to enter South Asia and Dubai. The company allegedly approached Uzbek officials, who offered them two government hospitals from the Soviet era. However, Chaudhry claims that the company decided to back out because the facilities were in disrepair and would require significant infrastructure investment. We prefer to spend money on technology and medical care rather than infrastructure. As a result, we declined the offer at the time. Then we began investigating the private sector, and when we began looking for hospitals there, we discovered that the standard of care was very poor due to a lack of medications, knowledge, and equipment. He claimed that the business would have to construct the facilities from scratch.
