In an era where technology evolves at an unprecedented pace, staying informed and connected is crucial for researchers, engineers, and tech enthusiasts. Addressing this need, MadScientist, a cutting-edge social networking platform incubated at T-Hub Hyderabad, is redefining how the global tech community collaborates and consumes research. Founded by Bhanu Kiran Mergoju, along with Srinivas Siliveru and Bhanuprasad Thandra, MadScientist offers a dynamic space for tech-driven minds to engage, co-author research, and explore groundbreaking innovations. The startup is also mentored by Silicon Valley XR expert Nivedita Gaur, a mentor at TechStars Accelerator and an executive at Meta.
MadScientist is more than just a networking platform—it is an interactive ecosystem that bridges the gap between innovation and accessibility. Unlike conventional platforms, it allows users to co-author research papers, find jobs and internships, and discuss emerging technologies. The platform also introduces a first-of-its-kind feature that enables users to share 3D visualizations of robotics, AI models, and research projects, making learning and collaboration more immersive.
As the demand for structured and real-time tech information grows, MadScientist has unveiled its AI-powered tool, Real-Time Information Synthesis (RIS), designed to transform how research and technology updates are consumed. RIS eliminates the reliance on time-consuming newsletters and fragmented articles by curating authentic, fact-checked insights within an hour. By defining credible sources for information synthesis, MadScientist is significantly reducing the spread of disinformation while ensuring users receive the latest technological advancements in a structured format. Early prototypes of RIS have already been tested successfully, and beta access is expected to roll out in early 2025.
The need for accessible research is greater than ever. With over 675 research articles published globally every hour, India is positioning itself as a key player in the tech landscape. However, existing research accessibility remains limited. While initiatives like the Government of India’s ‘One Nation, One Subscription’ scheme provide access to over 13,000 research journals, Bhanu believes a more sustainable and scalable approach is needed. MadScientist aims to fill this gap by creating a centralized platform for researchers worldwide to share their work, collaborate, and democratize knowledge.
Since its launch, MadScientist has witnessed rapid growth, amassing over 8,000 users across 20+ countries. The platform has garnered recognition from Silicon Valley leaders, including Clem Delangue, CEO of Hugging Face, who recently endorsed MadScientist’s seamless integration with Hugging Face accounts. This milestone has driven further adoption among global researchers, tech professionals, and developers.
Currently, MadScientist is in its pre-seed funding stage, seeking $600,000 to scale operations, enhance AI capabilities, and expand its reach. With a mobile app launch planned for March 2025, the platform is set to further revolutionize tech networking and research collaboration. As India pushes forward in its journey to become a global tech powerhouse, platforms like MadScientist are paving the way for a more connected, informed, and innovation-driven future.
