Swiggy Introduces Industry-First Incognito Mode for Private Ordering

Swiggy has announced the launch of its innovative Incognito Mode feature. This new addition, unveiled on Friday, allows users to place orders privately across both food and quick commerce, setting a new standard in the on-demand convenience sector.

Swiggy’s Incognito Mode is designed to cater to various scenarios where privacy is paramount. Whether users are planning a surprise, indulging in a personal treat, or making discreet purchases, the new feature ensures that these orders are kept out of the app’s history. This eliminates the need for users to manually delete their order history, offering a more seamless and secure experience.

Available on both Swiggy Food and Instamart, the Incognito Mode feature guarantees that personal choices, including sensitive purchases like wellness products, remain confidential. This enhanced privacy gives users confidence that their selections will not be visible to others.

“As social as our lives are becoming, there are still things we prefer to keep private, and Incognito Mode is designed to address that need,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. “Whether you’re ordering a meal or making a quick purchase, Incognito Mode ensures your choices remain private. We’re excited to offer our users a seamless experience that lets them enjoy Swiggy’s diverse offerings with enhanced privacy,” he added.

The Incognito Mode feature is currently available to 10 percent of Swiggy users, with plans to extend it to all users in the coming days. To activate the feature, users can toggle it on in their cart. A reminder will appear confirming that Incognito Mode is active. After the order is delivered, it will remain trackable for three hours, allowing users to manage any post-delivery concerns. Following this period, the order will be discreetly hidden from the order history.
