Sorterz, a premium online laundry startup, has purchased competitor app-based laundry startup Maxclean’s business-to-business (B2B) division for an unknown sum. Both are Bengaluru-based firms, utilizing technology to build their business.
Sorterz provides dry cleaning and wet clothes washing services to hospitals and hotels. Maxclean, which has a plant in Doddaballapur in Bengaluru’s rural area, has departed the B2B or industrial laundry industry and will focus only on retail laundry, according to Sorterz founder Chandan Singh.

According to Singh, the B2B laundry business in India was unorganized and is gradually transitioning to the organized sector, with a rapid spike in competitiveness.
According to market research data, the B2B laundry sector in India is expanding rapidly and is predicted to reach Rs 20,000 crore by 2025. “We are seeking to acquire a significant portion of this market over the next three years,” said Sorterz adviser Pramod D’Souza.
“This purchase offers us leverage to develop in Bangalore and is a solid beginning point looking at expansion across multiple locations in India,” said Singh, who founded Sorterz during the Covid epidemic in 2020.
