The world’s top online Bootcamp for digital skill development training, Simplilearn, recently revealed that it has bought Fullstack Academy, a bootcamp education company based in the United States, for an undisclosed sum of cash. Following market motivation in 2015, this acquisition will be the business’ second. In the past year, Simplilearn has experienced exponential growth of over 60%, and this complementing purchase will hasten Simplilearn’s progress toward becoming the greatest digital skilling company globally. The announcement of the Fullstack Academy acquisition follows the consortium led by GSV’s most recent round of fundraising. By FY24, Simplilearn’s revenue will increase to $200 million, with 70 percent likely coming from international markets, thanks to the purchase, which will increase its scope and footprint in the bootcamp industry.
Introducing new bootcamp programs in web development, cybersecurity, product management, devops, data analytics, and other fields, Fullstack Academy is a high-end bootcamp provider. With the help of 20 business and academic partners throughout the years, the company has expanded to over 7,000 graduates all around the United States. It also oversees the wildly popular Grace Hopper Program, which aims to inspire female and nonbinary students to pursue professions in technology.
Simplilearn has access to new university collaborations through Fullstack’s existing connections, which span 15 states and will hasten the company’s expansion in the area. Simplilearn attributes the acquisition of the tech bootcamp provider to Fullstack Academy’s well-established reputation for high-quality results, positive student feedback, loyal relationships, and a bright employee base. All Fullstack Academy employees will continue in their current positions after the sale, bringing Simplilearn’s total employee count above 2,500. As a stand-alone business division under Simplilearn, Fullstack Academy will continue to serve its partners and customers.
Sharing details on the acquisition, Mr. Krishna Kumar, founder, and CEO, of Simplilearn, said, “Bootcamps have been an extremely popular concept in the Edtech industry, and there is no denying that learners are looking for the holistic learning experience that boot camps offer. Through Fullstack Academy’s wide-spread footprint in the U.S. and its strong partnerships with top universities, we are confident that this collaboration will enable us to accelerate our global expansion plans. It is amazing to find a business whose vision is similar to ours and complements our pedagogy and belief system. We are certain we will be able to leverage each other’s capabilities synergistically to build a strong company.”
“This acquisition marks an exciting opportunity for our organization,” said Jerrad Tausz, CEO of Fullstack Academy. “Simplilearn is the world’s No. 1 online digital bootcamp. Together, we share an aligned mission of transforming lives by helping students from all backgrounds and skill sets learn the technical skills needed to secure in-demand jobs. We are very confident in the future success of our organization and excited about what the change of ownership will bring to all staff, students, partners, and alumni. I look forward to leveraging our shared vision with Simplilearn to bridge the digital skills gap in the U.S. market.”
The recent designation of Fullstack Academy as an AWS Authorized Training Partner makes it possible to offer authentic AWS training and certification in fields with high demand, such as cloud computing. It has been chosen to take part in the Amazon Career Choice program for 2023, which provides bootcamp courses to qualified Amazon employees in more than 30 major cities. Additionally, Fullstack Academy was chosen by LinkedIn Talent Solutions as the winner of its “Best Acquisition Team” category in the education category for the 2021 LinkedIn Talent Awards.
