Samosa sensations: Bengaluru couple amasses ₹45 crore yearly from samosa sales

Nidhi Singh and Shikhar Veer Singh, a Bengaluru-based couple, took a bold step in 2015 by quitting their lucrative corporate jobs to establish their food startup named “Samosa Singh.” The inspiration for the venture stemmed from Shikhar’s fondness for samosas and his ambition to popularize the snack in the city. To scale up their business, the enterprising duo liquidated their ₹80 lakh worth house to procure funds and expand their kitchen space. Presently, Samosa Singh boasts an impressive annual turnover of ₹45 crores and earns around ₹12 lakh daily, surpassing the success they had achieved in their previous jobs.

Shikhar Veer Singh, a former principal scientist at Biocon, and his wife Nidhi Singh, who previously worked at a pharma firm in Gurugram with a salary package of ₹30 lakhs, decided to venture into the food industry by establishing their own business. Their innovative food startup, “Samosa Singh,” offers a diverse range of samosas, including unique fillings such as kadhai paneer samosas. Although Shikhar had the idea for the business during his college days, Nidhi advised him to pursue a career in science. However, Shikhar’s passion for samosas was reignited when he witnessed a boy tearfully yearning for the snack at a food court, which compelled him to embark on his entrepreneurial journey.

Nidhi and Shikhar’s unwavering dedication to their food startup, Samosa Singh, has not only resulted in impressive success but also paved the way for future expansion plans. Despite hailing from affluent backgrounds, the couple was steadfast in their pursuit of entrepreneurship, and their resounding triumph has surpassed their initial expectations.
