Initially, the company’s focus was hardware-centric, utilizing tracking devices, RFID tags, and panic buttons to improve route planning and ensure safety.

As technology evolved, so did Routematic’s vision. Transitioning into a fully cloud-based IoT platform with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) capabilities, the company enhanced flexibility and accessibility for users. By 2018, the focus expanded to create a balanced ecosystem benefitting both corporates and drivers. “Our AI-powered cab dispatch solutions not only optimize employee transportation but also provide drivers with predictable incomes,” Sriram explains, highlighting the dual-sided approach of their innovation.

Harnessing AI and ML for Seamless Transportation

One of the hallmarks of Routematic is its integration of cutting-edge technologies like AI, machine learning, and big data analytics. This powerful combination ensures optimized routing, minimal commute times, and on-time arrivals for employees. “Real-time traffic data allows us to adjust routes dynamically, avoiding delays and enabling employees to start their day focused and refreshed,” says Sriram.

The company handles over 6,000 trips daily across India, demonstrating its scale and capability. Through supervised and reinforcement learning, Routematic refines travel time predictions and ensures efficient trip allocations, benefiting both commuters and drivers. “By continuously innovating, we remain committed to delivering a reliable commute experience that adapts to the evolving needs of our users,” Sriram emphasizes.

Setting a Benchmark in Employee Safety

For Kavitha, ensuring employee safety—especially for women—is a core value at Routematic. “We leverage advanced technologies such as real-time tracking and automated monitoring to ensure passenger security throughout each journey,” she explains. Every vehicle and app is equipped with an SOS button, providing immediate assistance during emergencies.

Routematic’s commitment to safety extends to a specialized safe-drop system for late-night travelers, backed by operational teams dedicated to monitoring journeys. “Our high safety standards set a strong benchmark in the industry, offering peace of mind to employees and their employers,” Kavitha asserts.

Expanding Horizons: Geographical Growth and Sustainability Goals

Routematic’s growth trajectory is fueled by the loyalty of its clients, with over 60% of new business stemming from referrals. The company is now eyeing international markets, with plans to expand into Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America by March 2025. “Strategic partnerships are key to this growth, allowing us to extend our reach and tailor services to new markets,” shares Kavitha.

The company is also embracing sustainability, addressing the rising demand for eco-friendly mobility solutions. By optimizing routes and reducing empty runs, Routematic minimizes carbon emissions and transportation costs. “We are actively expanding our electric vehicle (EV) fleet and offering Sustainability Dashboards to help clients track their progress toward ESG goals,” Kavitha explains, showcasing the company’s commitment to creating a greener future.
