Plant-based alternative food brand Alt Co. bags over $1.1 million in funding

Green food giant Alt Co., India’s leader in this specialised arena, revealed today that it has secured north of US $1 million in investment in a round-headed by key investors from Singapore, the Middle East, and India, sowing the seeds for a better future for the Planet and its residents. The Bengaluru-based sustainable plant-based alternative company will use the funding to expand and grow its sales and product portfolio. Alt Co. has grown its footprint into new states, increased the number of retail contact points, and saw an increase in online sales in the months leading up to the investment round.

Alt Co.’s development ambitions include the introduction of patented plant-based dairy replacements such as ice cream, yoghurt, hot chocolate, and chocolate bars, as well as plant-based eggs and plant-based nutrition. These initiatives are consistent with the brand’s philosophy, “Product First.” Furthermore, in the push to green supermarket grocery shelves, it is now possible to say with some reason that the Plant-Based Universe has arrived, and Alt Co. is proudly in the vanguard of this Green Revolution.

Basan Patil, Co-founder of Alt Co. said that more and more people are realising every day the significance of keeping to a healthy diet, a diet that takes nature as its inspiration. Alt Co. has gone out of its way to ensure that Indians have animal-friendly and dairy-free food alternatives, and we have been tremendously encouraged by the reaction to our goods.

Basan Patil and Rithwik Ramesh started Alt Co. in 2021 to cater to the diverse tastes of Indians without compromising their lives or culinary convictions. The objective of the alt-dairy brand is to provide Indians with a green and sustainable approach to health that removes animal cruelty by delivering a selection of premium and inexpensive plant-based goods, including Oat Milk, Alt Co.’s first offering. And, by encouraging customers to practise conscious consumption, the creators hope to improve our diets and the way we think about our physical well-being as well as the health of the world.
