Planet Marathi OTT Raises $5M from A & MA Capital USA

Marathi language video-streaming platform Planet Marathi OTT has secured $5 million in funding from A & MA Capital USA, a US-based private equity firm. This transaction marks one of the largest investments in the regional Indian entertainment sector to date, the company announced in a statement. The platform anticipates this initial investment to increase over the next two quarters.
In addition to the funding, Planet Marathi OTT has partnered with media-tech company Dcafe to further enhance its technological capabilities. The platform, dedicated to providing an exclusive stage for Marathi industry talent and stories globally, plans to utilize the investment to expand its content library and technological infrastructure.

Founded three years ago, Planet Marathi OTT claims to house the largest and most esteemed library of Marathi content on OTT platforms. The service offers content across various genres, including comedy, romance, politics, family drama, thriller, crime, and satire. Some of its well-known titles include “Goshta Eka Paithanichi” and “Raanbaazaar.”
