Ambareesh Murty, the CEO and Co-founder of the renowned online furniture enterprise Pepperfry, passed away at the age of 51 in Leh due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The news of his demise has left the community in deep sorrow. Pepperfry’s Co-founder, Ashish Shah, expressed his profound grief through a tweet,”Extremely devastated to inform that my friend, mentor, brother, soulmate @AmbareeshMurty is no more. Lost him yesterday night to a cardiac arrest at Leh. Please pray for him and for strength to his family and near ones,”. The company Pepperfry, which was established in 2012 by Murty and Shah, emerged as a significant player in the online furniture sector.

Murty’s entrepreneurial journey was marked by notable achievements. Pepperfry successfully secured substantial investments exceeding $230 million, with prominent contributors such as Norwest Venture Partners and Bertelsmann India Investments. Prior to his venture with Pepperfry, Murty held significant positions, including his role as the country manager for eBay India, Philippines, and Malaysia, where he made substantial contributions over a span of five years. He also played roles in esteemed organizations like Britannia Industries and Levi Strauss India in various capacities.
