Paytm Introduces Affordable Healthcare and Income Protection for Merchants with ‘Paytm Health Saathi’ Plan

In a strategic move to bolster support for its extensive merchant network, One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, has launched a comprehensive health and income protection plan named ‘Paytm Health Saathi’. This initiative, announced on July 3, is designed to provide affordable healthcare benefits and income protection to Paytm’s merchant partners.

The ‘Paytm Health Saathi’ plan, which starts at a subscription rate of Rs 35 per month, offers a wide range of services including unlimited doctor teleconsultations and in-person doctor visits (OPD) within its partner network. Additionally, the plan provides income protection cover in case of business interruptions caused by accidents, natural calamities such as floods and fires, or strikes.

Powered by MediBuddy, the doctor teleconsultation service brings extra benefits to the table, such as discounts at leading pharmacies and on diagnostic tests. The claim process has been streamlined for user convenience, allowing merchants to complete it with just a few clicks within the app, thus ensuring they can focus on their business without any additional stress.

A Paytm spokesperson highlighted the company’s dedication to its merchant community, stating, “The launch of Paytm Health Saathi underscores our steadfast commitment to ensuring the welfare of our merchant partners. This initiative is part of our mission to equip them with comprehensive and affordable coverage that supports their continued operations. By offering tailored solutions, aligned to their needs, we aim to strengthen the robust support system we provide to our community of business owners.”

The pilot phase of ‘Paytm Health Saathi’ began in May and has already seen participation from over 3,000 merchant partners. Following the success of this initial rollout, Paytm has now extended the feature to all its merchants.
