OYO plans 600 new locations in South India this year


Indian multinational hospitality chain, OYO is looking forward to expanding its service in South India, with an aim of 600 new locations by this December. At present, it has 1,350 properties in the region.

The states and union territories of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Puducherry are included in this category for expansion, according to reports. Both the corporate and leisure divisions will receive new listings from the company.

In addition to adding more listings, OYO aims to strengthen its branding by adding additional signs in an effort to attract more potential customers.

According to reports, “OYO has also been looking at enhancing its signage strategy in India and has installed over 100 signboards in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. It’s looking at increasing the number,”

Additionally, the corporation is recruiting over 50 “revenue leads” in the area, and all new properties to be immediately listed on online travel agent platforms.

This move comes after OYO opened 75 rooms in Jammu & Kashmir as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.
