ONDC, NCCF, and Shiprocket collaborate to back the ‘Sarkar se Rasoi Tak’ initiative

In a significant effort to streamline access to essential household goods, the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF), and Shiprocket have united to support the government’s “Sarkar se Rasoi Tak” initiative. This collaboration aims to deliver key staples like Aata, Dal, and Chaawal directly to consumers’ homes through the ONDC network, ensuring affordability and convenience.

Residents of the Delhi NCR region (Gurgaon and Faridabad) can now order Bharat brand rice (Bharat Chawal), wheat flour (Bharat Atta), and lentils (Bharat Daal) online with the assurance of government-approved prices, thanks to this initiative. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and come with free delivery. Consumers can place orders for these products via ONDC-supported buyer applications such as Paytm, Magicpin, Mystore, and Pincode, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.

T Koshy, Managing Director and CEO at ONDC, highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating, “The ‘Sarkar se Rasoi Tak’ initiative epitomizes the transformative power of digital commerce in democratizing access to essential goods.” He expressed ONDC’s pride in participating in this collaborative effort to promote inclusivity and empower consumers across India.

Anice Joseph Chandra, Managing Director at NCCF, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “We are delighted to partner with the ONDC Network on this forward-thinking initiative.” He emphasized the mission to deliver quality essentials at affordable prices, leveraging the ONDC Network’s wide reach and advanced technology.

Saahil Goel, CEO & Co-Founder of Shiprocket, discussed the initiative’s alignment with the company’s mission, stating, “As an eCommerce enablement platform, we align with the innovative e-Governance initiative – “Sarkar se Rasoi Tak.” He emphasized the goal of bridging the gap between consumers and locally sourced products and expressed plans to expand the initiative to other cities of the country via multiple collaborations.

Through this collaboration, the initiative not only promises to make essential staples readily available but also supports local sourcing, reflecting India’s commitment to agricultural heritage, self-reliance, and sustainability. Additionally, Shiprocket aims to enhance the seller experience on the ONDC Network, offering streamlined onboarding and comprehensive post-support services to enable sellers to broaden their customer base.
