Neurological healthcare startup In-Med Prognostics raises $2.13 million in funding led by Exxora


A funding round led by Exxora and including well-known angel investors totaled $2.13 million, according to the AI-backed neurological healthcare startup In-Med Prognostics. The startup claimed it would use the money to stabilise, grow, and access global markets.

Dr. Latha Poonamallee, co-founder of In-Med Prognostics, said, “We are beyond thrilled about using this investment to improve and broaden our product suite and bring accessible AI-based healthcare tools to the emerging world and beyond.” The startup provides specialised AI-powered image processing software for enhancing radiologist workflow and neurologist decision support. The business claims to be the first in the world to offer neuro assessment reports tailored to a particular ethnicity and the ability to process multi-modal data in order to create integrated digital biomarkers.

According to Sriram Natarajan, director of Exxora, “med-tech has some incredible opportunities. We continue to invest in startups like In-Med Prognostics that are offering cutting-edge solutions in preventive brain health using AI and deep learning.” With a focus on expanding to Africa, In-Med Prognostics collaborates with Aarthi Scans, Scansworld, Gujarat Scans, Nanavati Hospital, and Kauvery Hospital in India. “In 2018, we began in India with a simple prototype that started with imaging biomarkers, and we were able to establish the use case understanding of frugal innovation. According to Rajesh Purushottam, cofounder of In-Med Prognostics, “this investment by Exxora pivots us to advance some cutting-edge solutions as part of our innovation funnel in the neurosciences space, and deliver in both volume and value markets.

In-Med Prognostics, founded in 2018, uses machine learning and deep learning algorithms to provide neuro analysis that helps in the assessment and early detection of neurological disorders like Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s at reasonable prices.
